After making sure you applied the perfect base (matching the foundation and correcting any areas with discolouration with concealer) we were taught how to apply contour to the face using foundation/concealer that were a couple of shades darker than the models skin tone.
- Apply the correct base that matches the models skin tone
- Correct underneath the eyes
- Contour under neath the cheekbones using a foundation/concealer a few shades darker than the models skin tone. ( Hollows of the cheekbones, temples/ forehead, under neath the jaw, nose (if needed)
- Highlight using a few shades lighter than the foundation used. I used the Dermacolour concealers. ( Top of the cheekbones, bridge of the nose, cupids bow, underneath the cheekbones to make the contour stand out.
Throughout apply all of this we made sure we blended a lot so that the contour was very natural to the face and not harsh at all. Sometimes contour can be too focused on harsh lines and muddy, grey colours making the face look dirty.
